Browse and search Discover

Discover is Zavora's community recipe feed — a space to explore public recipes
shared by other users. You can browse by scrolling, narrow results with search and filters, and save any recipe directly to your library.

What Discover shows

Discover surfaces recipes that other Zavora users have set to Public. Each recipe card shows the recipe name, type, key details, and the creator's public username. Recipes you've already saved are marked so you don't lose track.

During early access, the Discover feed is growing as more users join. If it feels quiet, that's normal — it will fill up over time.

How to browse

  1. Open Discover from the main navigation.
  2. Scroll the feed to explore what other users have shared.
  3. Click any recipe card to open the full recipe — ingredients, steps, prep time, and more.

You don't need to search for anything specific. Scrolling the feed is a good way to find recipes you wouldn't have thought to look for.

How to search

Use the search bar at the top of Discover to find recipes by name or keyword.

Tips for better results:

  • Start with broad terms ("chicken", "pasta", "soup") and refine from there.
  • If a specific search returns nothing, try a shorter or more general keyword — recipe names vary across users.
  • Searches match against recipe names and visible metadata, not ingredient lists.

Filtering results

Use the available filters to narrow results by recipe type (breakfast, lunch,
dinner, etc.) or other criteria. Combine filters with search to get more targeted
results. Clear all filters with the Clear button to return to the full feed.

Saving a recipe to your library

To save a recipe from Discover, open it and use the Save action. The recipe is copied to your library as a read-only copy — it won't change if the original creator edits theirs. Saved recipes appear in your library and can be included in your shopping list.

Note: editing copied recipes is not yet supported. If you want a customised version, the best approach for now is to create a new recipe using it as inspiration.

Recipe not showing up in search results?

If you're looking for a specific recipe and can't find it:

  • Make sure you don't have conflicting filters active — clear them and search again.
  • The recipe may be set to Private by its creator and won't appear in Discover.
  • If you're looking for your own public recipe, confirm its visibility is set to
    Public in your recipe settings.
